No. 1 swimming pool problem? It's number two!
Thu May 16, 2013
“The average person has about .14 grams of feces on their rear end,” Gee, I wonder who did the study to come up with THAT figure!
Anti-bra study findings not one-size-fits-all, author says
Fri Apr 12, 2013
Maybe A-cups can go without bras, but I hate even hanging around the house without one on (I'm a C). I find going without a bra to be very uncomfortable! Exercising without out is downright painful.
Consumer Reports puts restaurant nutrition claims to the test
Wed Mar 27, 2013
I don't understand everyone's anger. I'm trying to lose weight (because everyone hates fat people right?) and, because of my job that's 50% travel, I have to eat out quite a bit. I'd love to always make food at home but when you NOT at home what are you supposed to do? We don't all live in a world w …
Anal cancer cases tripled in U.S. over two decades
Fri Mar 22, 2013
It's not "anal HPV infections", it's simply HPV infections. over 90% of women will get HPV at some point in their lives. Men's rate (whether homosexual or heterosexual) are likely higher, but because the risks to men are far lower men are not tested for HPV so exact numbers are not known. It's the # …
Too much tea causes unusual bone disease
Wed Mar 20, 2013
Both the tea and water contained fluoride but the article clearly states that levels of fluoride in U.S. water are not enough to cause this disease. Otherwise the disease would be endemic in America. :)~ The amount of tea she drank is what put her at risk.
Cash can bribe dieters to lose weight, study says
Thu Mar 7, 2013
I don't think it's that people care about money more than health, it's that money is a short term goal while health is a long term goal. Many studies have shown that short term rewards are far more influential than long term rewards. When someone who wants to lose weight is faced with a situation w …
US obesity mystery: We're eating fewer calories, getting fatter
Thu Mar 7, 2013
I also don't believe it's as simple as calories in and calories out, but even if it WAS that simple we're still eating too many calories. Okay, we were overeating by 314 calories a day, now we've reduced that amount by 74, so we're still overeating by 240 calories a day?!? Why would they expect obes …
Police investigating facility after nurse refuses to do CPR
Tue Mar 5, 2013
If done RIGHT CPR usually breaks ribs! I know everyone thinks this was horrible, but it makes sense. The likelihood of an elderly woman being resurrected from CPR are slim to none. Do some research on it. We don't know the exact circumstances, but many facilities would not attempt CPR. In fact, ther …
Small snacks curb appetite as well as bigger snacks
Sun Mar 10, 2013
I think the key is realized this study looked at "short-term" only. Okay, all were equally satisfied after 15 minutes, but what about after an hour?? 15 minutes is not enough time to properly evaluate how sated someone is.
Doctor office misdiagnoses may be putting thousands at risk
Mon Feb 25, 2013
I do think most doctors want to help people. I also think that most PCPs have too many appointments and a, perhaps somewhat reasonable, distrust of patient accounts of symptoms. I've never had any serious health issues, but have had problems with minor issues. I once developed folliculitis after bei …
